Bo Hao is a Senior Lecturer and Project Coordinator in the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies at Hunter College. He specializes in proficiency-based Chinese language instruction and curriculum development for advanced language acquisition, serving as an assessment coordinator for the Hunter Chinese Flagship Program since 2011. His work focuses on bridging intermediate-to-advanced language proficiency and mentoring graduate students in teacher education programs.

Bo Hao's research interests center on Chinese language pedagogy, proficiency-based instructional frameworks, and field supervision for teaching practicums. He has developed national STARTALK student and teacher programs, pioneered OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) testing coordination, and delivered professional development workshops at institutions nationwide. His expertise spans curriculum design for superior language competency, teacher certification practices, and competency-based education models.
As an adviser for Hunter's M.A. Teacher Education program, Bo Hao supervises student teaching practicums and leads professional training initiatives. He has served as lead teacher for STARTALK programs and currently oversees the teacher program component.
Bo Hao contributes to the Chinese Flagship Program through assessment coordination, program development, and national conference presentations on language education methodologies.
