Birthe Hoffmann is an Associate Professor at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Copenhagen, where she has worked since 2001. Her research focuses on Austrian literature and culture, literature and war, literature and science, and cultural/national identity. She specializes in 20th-century Germanic literature, particularly works by Robert Musil, Franz Kafka, and Franz Grillparzer.
