Bing Pan is Professor of Commercial Recreation and Tourism and Professor-in-Charge of Graduate Studies in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management at Pennsylvania State University, where he investigates tourism phenomena through data analytics, marketing, and economic frameworks.
His academic credentials include:

- B.E. from Nanjing University
Research focuses on travel behavior economics, big data applications in tourism, information systems, and consumer behavior, emphasizing data-driven analysis of tourism benefits and marketing strategies. His work bridges analytics with real-world tourism industry challenges through computational approaches.
Active in the Outdoor Recreation, Protected Area, and Environmental Education Research Group and Travel and Tourism Research Group, he currently accepts graduate students for the Travel and Tourism Behavior program while leading projects on information technology applications in tourism. As Unit Diversity Committee Chair and DEIB Committee member, he integrates inclusion principles into academic leadership.
