Dr. Bijan Rouhani is a Senior Researcher at EAMENA (Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa) affiliated with the University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in History and Conservation of Architectural Heritage from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a Master’s in Conservation and Restoration of Historic Monuments and Sites.
- Research Focus: Cultural heritage management in conflict and disaster zones, satellite imagery analysis, post-war recovery, and digital documentation tools.
- Leadership: Vice-President of ICOMOS-ICORP, Vice-Chair of ICOMOS Working Group for Syria/Iraq, and Director of AMAL in Heritage at Global Heritage Fund.
Recent Publications highlight digital strategies for heritage preservation, disaster risk management frameworks, and post-conflict reconstruction challenges. His work spans Afghanistan, Iran, and the broader Middle East/North Africa region.
