Bianca Maria Nardella is a Tutor at The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, University College London. Trained as an architect, urban planner, and social scientist across Italy, USA, and UK, she integrates professional practice with research on cultural heritage and sustainable development. Her work focuses on UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa.
She is completing her PhD dissertation titled 'Interrogating communities of expertise on urban conservation and development: How do you mean "public and open spaces" in Tunis?' at UCL's Development Planning Unit. Her consulting expertise includes managing cultural heritage projects funded by the World Bank, EuropeAid, and the Inter-American Development Bank.
Her recent publications analyze international urban conservation policies in Tunis (2015), advocacy challenges in Ethiopian museums (2015), and the impact of Arab Revolutions on urban conservation (2013). These works highlight intersections between cultural governance, political dynamics, and sustainable development practices in heritage contexts.
