Beth M. Holloway is a Professor of Engineering Practice in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University’s College of Engineering. She holds dual roles as the Leah H. Jamieson Director of the Women in Engineering (WiE) Program and Senior Assistant Dean for Student Access and Success. Her work focuses on advancing gender equity in STEM through initiatives like the WiE Program, which supports recruitment, retention, and professional development for women in engineering.
Holloway leads programs such as Engineering FYI for middle school students and oversees WiE’s outreach, mentorship, and corporate partnership efforts. Her research interests include engineering education, diversity in admissions, and student success strategies. She has authored works on topics like spatial reasoning interventions for first-year students and the history of women in engineering initiatives.
Holloway collaborates with corporate partners like General Motors and Blue Origin to enhance recruitment and provide student networking opportunities. She also oversees Purdue’s ENGR 19400 seminar, a key component of WiE’s first-year engagement strategy. Her administrative roles involve policy development for student access programs and fostering inclusive academic environments.
