Beth Baronian is a Professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), specializing in Foundation Studies. She holds an M.F.A. in illustration from the Academy of Art College, an M.F.A. in costume design from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in drama from San Francisco State University.
Her career spans extensive roles in costume design across film, theater, and television. Notable projects include key draping for films like Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and Terminator II, costume design for theater productions such as Ringling Brother’s Clown College and Vanities, and work on television projects like Angel Street. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
Baronian’s research focuses on integrating digital tools into art education, as seen in her panel presentation “Sketchpads, iPads and Smartphones Oh My!” at the FATE conference. She has received multiple accolades, including SCAD’s Sabbatical and Presidential Fellowships, and the Bes Kimberly Grant for costume design excellence.
Her industry experience includes roles as a draper, costumer, milliner, and armorer across diverse productions, reflecting her expertise in both traditional and contemporary design practices.
