معرفی
Bert Koopmans is a Full Professor and Group leader of the Physics of Nanostructures (FNA) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He specializes in spintronics, nanomagnetism, and ultrafast spin dynamics, with a focus on integrated magneto-photonics. His work contributes to energy-efficient information technology and sustainable development goals.
Academic Background: PhD from the University of Groningen, postdoc at Radboud University Nijmegen, and Humboldt Fellow at the Max-Planck Institute in Stuttgart. Joined TU/e in 1997.
Research Interests: Femtosecond magnetization processes, domain wall motion control, organic spintronics, and optically-induced magnetization dynamics. Combines experiments with theoretical frameworks to advance spintronic-photonic integration.
Notable Achievements: Awarded NWO Vici Grant (2004) and NWO Gravitation Prize (2014). Leads the Research Centre for Integrated NanoPhotonics and serves on NanoLabNL and NanoLab@TU/e advisory boards.
Grants & Collaborations: Coordinator of NanoMaterials (cNM) and Program Director of Advanced NanoElectronic Devices (NanoNextNL). Active in international collaborations and industry partnerships.
Labs/Teams: Head of the Physics of Nanostructures group, involved in interdisciplinary research at TU/e's Hendrik Casimir Institute.
