Berrin Erdogan is a Professor of Management at Portland State University's School of Business and holds the title of Visiting Professor at The American College of Greece (ACG). She earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an M.S. in Behavioral Sciences from Istanbul University, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Boğaziçi University.
Her research focuses on leader-employee relationships and workplace overqualification. She has published over 70 journal articles and co-authored influential textbooks including Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management: People, Data, and Analytics. Dr. Erdogan has served as Editor-in-Chief of Personnel Psychology and is a Fellow of SIOP and APS.
She teaches courses on organizational behavior, human resources, and performance management. Her work spans industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and technology across the USA, China, Turkey, and more. She has delivered invited talks globally and served as a Fulbright Specialist. Recent publications address idiosyncratic deals, newcomer socialization, and overqualification dynamics.
Awards include SIOP and APS fellowships. She advises students and actively engages in professional organizations. Her career emphasizes bridging academic research with practical organizational challenges.
