Bernhard Emunds

Bernhard Emunds is a Professor of Christian Social Ethics and Social Philosophy at the University of Sankt Georgen since 2006, directing the Nell-Breuning Institute. He serves on committees including the Central Committee of German Catholics and the Synodal Assembly (2019-2023).

• Research Priorities: Ethics of finance, housing policy, care work, welfare state, and Christian social ethics.
• Committees: Advises the Hans Böckler Foundation, IG Metall/ver.di unions, and academic editorial boards.

Key Publications address financial instability, urban land ethics, and domestic labor exploitation. His 2023 work analyzes resource systems in ecological crises and Catholic housing policies.

Projects include studies on urban soil rights (2023-2026), elderly care futures (2020-2022), and live-in care models (2020-2021). He has led financial market regulation research since 1998.
