Bernardo Ramirez is an Associate Professor and Director of Global Health Initiatives at the School of Global Health Management and Informatics within the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida. His roles include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on U.S. and international health systems, quality improvement, strategic planning, and cultural competency. He holds an M.D. and an MBA, with extensive experience in health services administration across public and private sectors.
Dr. Ramirez has held leadership positions including Director of Health Standards at Mexico’s Ministry of Health, President of the Mexican Hospital Association, and roles with global organizations such as the World Health Organization and the World Bank. He currently chairs the Global Faculty Forum at the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and serves on accreditation committees for healthcare management education.
His research and professional focus spans minority health advocacy, healthcare policy reform, and international health system development. He actively contributes to training programs and policy initiatives through organizations like the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Inter-American Development Bank.
Dr. Ramirez teaches in the Executive Master of Health Administration (online) and Health Administration MHA programs, emphasizing practical leadership and global health strategies.
