Nalin Johri

Nalin Johri, PhD, MPH, serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Interprofessional Health Sciences and Health Administration at Seton Hall University, where he also directs the Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program and teaches core courses including Healthcare Data Analytics, Research Methods, and Healthcare Policy.

Dr. Johri holds a PhD and Master of Public Health (MPH), with over 10 years of professional experience spanning NGOs like CARE and EngenderHealth, UNICEF consulting for Millennium Development Goals reporting, and USAID's Palestinian Health Sector Reform Project until 2013.

His research centers on Healthcare Data Analytics and Competency Assessment in graduate education, extending to Global Health program evaluation and Health Policy analysis. He develops innovative educational tools including video tutorials and hybrid learning frameworks, with significant contributions to faculty development and curriculum design in health administration.

Dr. Johri's scholarly work demonstrates consistent focus on data-driven healthcare management education, addressing pandemic-era hybrid learning challenges, leadership development, and cultural competence integration. His publications bridge theoretical frameworks with practical applications in competency assessment and analytics.

As MHA Program Director, he oversees student competency development and academic progress while securing substantial research funding including a $105,000 NJ Healthcare Executive Leadership Academy contract (2021) and Seton Hall's $5,000 Assessment Advancement Grant (2024-2025) for the CADET project. Additional internal grants support iHAD (health administration data sets) and IT-HEAD (Tableau integration) initiatives.

Dr. Johri leads multiple research projects including CADET for competency assessment dashboards and iHAD for health administration data analytics, while serving on national committees for AUPHA, CAHME accreditation, and ACHE's Northern New Jersey Regent's Advisory Council.
