Berfin Ataman is a Turkish designer and researcher with a background in Design Media Arts. She served as a Lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Design Media Arts Department and is currently conducting research on dynamic structures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her work explores human-environment interactions and non-human dynamics through technology, material science, and kinetic art.

Her research and creative practice focus on interactive installations, soft robotics, and systems that mediate between humans, environments, and technology. Notable projects include the Sympathetic Motion Series and Displaced, which interrogate anthropomorphism and environmental responsiveness.

Her installations have been exhibited globally at venues such as the CICA Museum (South Korea) and the A+D Museum (Los Angeles). Current research at MIT continues her exploration of dynamic structures and their societal implications.
