Mindy Seu

Mindy Seu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design Media Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), within the School of the Arts and Architecture. Her practice spans design, technology, and critical theory. She holds an M.Des. from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a B.A. in Design Media Arts from UCLA.

Her research focuses on feminist economies, internet materiality, and the historical foundations of virtual spaces. Notable projects include the Cyberfeminism Index, an archive of three decades of online activism and net art, which received the Graham Foundation Grant. This project was exhibited at the New Museum and commissioned by Rhizome.

Seu lectures globally at institutions like the Barbican Centre, Columbia University, and Google. She has been a resident at prestigious venues including MacDowell and the Internet Archive. Her design work has been commissioned by the Serpentine Gallery, MIT Media Lab, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. Her writings and projects appear in Frieze, Vanity Fair, and Gagosian Quarterly.

She actively participates in initiatives such as UCLA’s Game Lab and the FLAT Journal, contributing to interdisciplinary dialogues in art, technology, and social systems.
