Benom Plumb is an Associate Professor and Program Director for Music Industry Studies & Music Management at the University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music in Stockton. He holds a BM from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MM in Music Business from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. His expertise spans music publishing, licensing, and royalties, with prior roles including Vice President of Licensing at Bluewater Music and Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Denver.
Research interests include blockchain's role in music industry innovation, music copyright law, and hybrid educational methodologies. He authored Georgia Rambler: The Life and Music of Neely Plumb and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals like Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. Awards include the Thomas J. Long Faculty Fellowship for outstanding teaching in music business education.
Plumb's creative work includes the rock project 'Professor Plumb' and electronic project 'The Jolly Backbeat,' featured in TV and video games. He is a member of The Recording Academy and serves on the MEIEA Journal's Editorial Review Board.
