Professor Benjamin Tan holds the title of Professor (Nursing) at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Nursing and Midwifery, where he also serves as Chair of Chronic Conditions & Cancer Care Research and Associate Head of School (Research). He concurrently holds adjunct professorships at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Southwest Medical University Hospital, and Zunyi Medical University. His research focuses on integrative oncology, symptom management in cancer care, and palliative care, with over 130 peer-reviewed publications and 30+ funded projects. Recognized as a top 2% most-cited scientist globally (2023–2024), his work influences international clinical guidelines such as those from the European Society for Medical Oncology and NICE.
Education: PhD in Nursing from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2018).
Research interests span integrative oncology, cancer supportive care, and the validation of culturally adapted clinical tools.
