Benjamin Faude

Dr. Benjamin Faude is a scholar in International Relations and Global Governance. He served as Substitute Junior Professor for International and European Politics at the University of Bamberg (2016–2017) and as Research Fellow at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center’s Research Unit on Global Governance. His doctoral dissertation (summa cum laude, 2013) explored institutional dynamics in global governance. Faude’s research focuses on institutional complexes, legalization of world politics, and regional integration, with a particular emphasis on Europe and beyond.

Education: PhD in Political Science (University of Bamberg, 2013); M.A. equivalent in Political Science with minors in Public Law and European Community Law (2008). He held visiting fellowships at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (2011) and UC Berkeley (2010–2011).

Research interests include inter-institutional order, fragmentation of international judiciary systems, and the microfoundations of governance complexes. His work bridges theoretical contributions with empirical analyses of institutional adaptation and policy coordination.
