Benedicte Brøgger is a Professor at the Department of Communication and Culture, BI Norwegian Business School. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of Oslo (2001). Her academic career includes roles as Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago (2007–2009), Associate Dean of the BI-Fudan MBA program in Shanghai (2015–2017), and Research Director at the Work Research Institute (2011–2013). She teaches and supervises students at all academic levels, specializing in cross-cultural management, intercultural communication, and action learning.
Brøgger's research focuses on social entrepreneurship, cultural dimensions of business, and tax compliance dynamics. Notable works include the 2021 monograph *Social Enterprise in China* (Routledge), exploring the socio-cultural underpinnings of social innovation in China. Her research examines global-to-local intersections, such as cooperative compliance models in Nordic tax systems and entrepreneurial ecosystems in the Peruvian Andes.
Her grants include funding from the Norwegian Research Council and the EU Horizon 2020 program. Key themes in her work include cross-cultural collaboration, organizational change, and the socio-economic impacts of global policies. She has also contributed to policy evaluations in Nigeria and Norway, emphasizing participatory approaches to workplace well-being and immigrant integration.
