Becky Naumann

Dr. Becky Naumann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and core faculty at the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center. Her work focuses on injury prevention, particularly road traffic injuries and drug overdose prevention, with methodological expertise in systems science approaches. She collaborates closely with state and local partners to advance injury prevention strategies.

Research Interests: Dr. Naumann examines injury trends, risk factors, and effective interventions. Her current projects include evaluating Medicaid lock-in programs for opioid misuse, motorcycle helmet law impacts, and opioid overdose mortality among former inmates. She emphasizes systems science to address complex injury prevention challenges.
