Amy Wolkin, DrPh, MSPH is an Adjunct Professor at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, affiliated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She serves as the Chief of the Data Analytics Branch in the Division of Injury Prevention at CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC), where she leads multidisciplinary efforts in health statistics, data science, and injury surveillance.

Research Interests: Her expertise spans data analytics, public health surveillance, environmental epidemiology, systems thinking, and emergency preparedness, with a focus on addressing health equity and resilience in at-risk populations during disasters and outbreaks.
Career Leadership: Dr. Wolkin has led national surveillance initiatives, including the National Poison Data System, disaster-related injury monitoring, and the Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER) toolkit. She has authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, emphasizing data-driven approaches to public health challenges.
