Basel Alsayyed is Assistant Professor and Engineering Technology Program Director at Western Carolina University's College of Engineering and Technology. With 20+ years in academia and 12 years in automotive industry, he teaches engineering technology courses focusing on manufacturing, design, and quality systems.
Education includes PhD in Industrial Engineering (Wayne State), MS Manufacturing Engineering (Wayne State), MS Industrial Engineering (NC A&T), BS Industrial Engineering (NC A&T). He holds CMfgE certification and ABET program evaluator credentials.
Research spans additive manufacturing, design optimization, quality systems, and knowledge management. He has 7 granted patents and 50+ publications.
