He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London. His academic journey includes roles at the University of Texas, UCLA, and Stanford University. His research focuses on convenience retailing, branding, consumer search behavior, and the environmental impact of food choices. He holds a PhD and M.Sc. from INSEAD and an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Twente University.
Research interests span three core areas: 1) the interplay between convenience and retail dynamics, 2) branding strategies and market entry barriers, and 3) consumer decision-making processes in online and offline environments. Recent work highlights environmental sustainability in food consumption and the economic value of e-commerce.
Publications often address consumer behavior in evolving markets, leveraging empirical data and theoretical models to inform policy and business strategies. His work on nutritional warning labels and transportation cost savings in e-commerce demonstrates interdisciplinary applications of marketing economics.
Bronnenberg’s expertise is reflected in affiliations with TiSEM’s Marketing department and the Tilburg Law and Economic Center (TILEC). He has advised on policy issues related to consumer welfare and environmental sustainability, blending academic rigor with real-world impact.
