Yufeng Huang is an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Simon Business School, University of Rochester. He holds a PhD in Marketing and MS in Economics from Tilburg University (Netherlands). His research focuses on marketplaces, pricing strategies, consumer behavior, and e-commerce, with emphasis on platform design, information frictions, and quantitative methods.
Key research areas include consumer decision heuristics, transportation costs in e-commerce, tied goods and switching costs, and intertemporal demand spillovers. He has published in top journals like Marketing Science and Management Science. Notable work includes analyzing live-stream promotions on Twitch, consumer time allocation in online shopping, and platform pricing remedies using the Airbnb case study.
His awards include finalist nominations for the 2023 JMR Paul E. Green Award and Management Science's Marketing Department Best Paper Award. Huang collaborates extensively with scholars like Ilya Morozov, Paul Ellickson, and Bart Bronnenberg. His research is frequently covered in media such as Kellogg Insights and the Simon Business School's Dean's Corner.
