Dr. Barbara R. Peltzman is an Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the School of Education, St. John’s University. With over 30 years of service, she teaches curriculum and methods courses to undergraduates across Staten Island and Queens campuses. Her research focuses on literacy, children’s literature, and educational strategies, including a notable grant-funded initiative to support bilingual families through storytelling. She authored Reading Instruction in America (2015) and is developing a new book, Put the Play Back into K.
