Barb Finkenbine

Barb Finkenbine is an Instructor in the McAuley School of Nursing at the University of Detroit Mercy. With over 40 years of nursing experience and 20+ years of teaching, she transitioned from an adjunct role (since 2001) to full-time faculty in Fall 2021. She holds an MSN from the University of Detroit Mercy, a BSN from Bowling Green State University, and an AAS from Cuyahoga Community College.

Her teaching focuses on fundamental medical-surgical nursing, clinical immersion, and health assessment. Finkenbine emphasizes inclusive education, stating, 'Detroit Mercy is a big family welcoming all people regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.' Her interests outside academia include gardening, family time, and spending time with her grandsons.
