Professor Babak Abbasi is a Deputy Dean, Research & Innovation at RMIT University's Department of Accounting, Info Sys & Supply Chain. His research focuses on quantitative modeling, decision-making under uncertainty, and applications in healthcare, supply chain, and disaster management. He holds a Professor academic rank and has collaborated with institutions like Yale University and industry partners such as Australian Red Cross Blood Life and KPMG.
Research Interests: Intersection of machine learning and optimization, healthcare analytics, blood supply chain management, stochastic optimization, and disaster management. Notable software contributions include the SPSA-FSR package in R and the Empty Container Relocation Problem teaching tool.
