Aysel Bandad is a full-time Lecturer in Economics at ADA University in Baku, Azerbaijan, and a PhD candidate in Finance at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass). Her research focuses on the macroeconomic effects of external shocks and transmission mechanisms in resource-rich developing countries, with a specific case study on Azerbaijan. She holds an MSc in Finance and Business Economics from Manchester Business School (UK), and a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Economics from Baku State University.

Her professional experience includes roles as Leading Economist at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (2005–2007), and teaching positions at Baku-Oxford School (2012–2015) as Head of Business Studies and Instructor. She is also an International Certified Microfinance Expert (Frankfurt School, 2013).
Her research interests emphasize policy implications for resource-dependent economies, leveraging empirical analysis of financial and macroeconomic dynamics.
