Dr. Liying Wang is a Lecturer in Finance at the Department of Finance and Accounting, University of Liverpool Management School. She holds a PhD in Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) and an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research focuses on intersections between finance, technology, and sustainability, spanning areas such as institutional investors' behavior, climate finance, and machine learning applications in financial markets. She currently coordinates the module ACFI812: Banking and Financial Institutions.
Professional activities include Affiliate Membership with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries since 2013 and peer reviewing for Economics Letters. Her work bridges theoretical finance with practical challenges in areas like ESG disclosure practices, biodiversity conservation economics, and pricing climate risks through innovative methodologies combining textual analysis and machine learning.
