Aysel Sultan

Aysel Sultan is a Senior Lecturer in Science and Technology Policy at Monash University's Eastern Health Clinical School, affiliated with the RESET M.A. program funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from Goethe Universität Frankfurt and has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Haifa and Monash University. Her interdisciplinary work focuses on the sociology of health, international drug policy, and child/youth wellbeing, with expertise in harm reduction, materialism, and posthumanism.

Research Interests:

Her work examines culturally-adapted drug treatments, gender-responsive policy design, and digital platforms' impact on health knowledge. Recent projects include investigating marginalized drug users' care needs and the intersection of technology with harm reduction practices. She critiques global drug policies through historical and neocolonial lenses, particularly in post-Soviet contexts like Azerbaijan.
