Ayize Sabater

Ayize Sabater, Sr. (Ed.D) is a faculty member affiliated with Morgan State University. He is a dynamic entrepreneur, educational researcher, author, and visionary with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Sabater earned his doctorate in Urban Education and Leadership from Morgan State University in 2018.

• Co-founder of a D.C. Montessori Public Charter school
• Founder of the Black Montessori Educational Fund (BMEF)
• First Black Executive Director of AMI/USA (appointed November 2020)

Research Interests focus on:

• Family engagement in education
• Culturally relevant pedagogy for Black communities
• Montessori education equity for marginalized populations
• Urban education leadership
