Dr. Amy Nguyen-Chyung is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego, where she has taught since 2018. She leads curriculum development for New Ventures Development and New Ventures Launch courses, guiding student teams in entrepreneurial projects. She holds leadership roles as Co-Director of the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur (UCSD Rady-Jacobs collaboration), Faculty Director of the Rady MicroMBA program, and Faculty Committee member for the Sullivan Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her initiatives include launching Rady's first global immersion program to Vietnam in 2024.

Her research explores heterogeneity in entrepreneurial decision-making through four primary lenses:
- Founder talent/risk profiles and venture performance
- Strategic positioning in emerging industries
- Human capital allocation in startups
- Non-market strategy in global entrepreneurship
Her 2023 Management Science publication on research reproducibility reflects her methodological rigor, while her award-winning 'Amazon in Emerging Markets' case study demonstrates applied expertise in global business strategy.

She has supervised 100+ student venture teams and secured research funding from the Kauffman Foundation. Prior industry experience includes strategy consulting at A.T. Kearney (recipient of Great Client Work Award) and finance roles at World Bank spanning three continents.
