Vish Krishnan

Professor Vish Krishnan is a Chaired Professor holding the Jacobs Family Chair in Management and Engineering Leadership and serves as Faculty Director of Rady's Entrepreneurship Initiative (CIID) at the University of California, San Diego's Rady School of Management. He concurrently acts as Associate Director for the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur, a joint venture with the Jacobs School of Engineering where he maintains a joint appointment. As one of the Rady School's founding faculty members, he brings extensive startup and business experience from California and Texas.

Research Interests: Professor Krishnan specializes in innovation, entrepreneurship, and product management with emphasis on improving effectiveness and efficiency of innovative operations and ventures. His work bridges academic theory and industry practice across life sciences, technology, automotive, and services sectors. He maintains active research collaborations with the School of Medicine through NIH and California State grants, focusing on science and technology commercialization.

Advising and Grants: Professor Krishnan has served as founding member for multiple startup teams and currently advises numerous startup teams and major international corporations. His research is supported by significant grants from the National Institute of Health and the State of California for collaborations with the School of Medicine. He has been invited to teach at MIT and Harvard University, demonstrating his national academic influence.

Labs and Teams: He leads the Center for Innovation, Impact, and Design (CIID) and co-directs the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur, driving Rady School's entrepreneurial ecosystem through initiatives like the Lab to Market core course series where students develop real businesses.
