Ayana Allen-Handy

Dr. Allen-Handy is Professor and Chair of the Policy, Organization, and Leadership Department at Drexel University's School of Education. She earned her PhD from Texas A&M University and BA from UNC Chapel Hill.

Her scholarship examines urban education, critical race theory, youth participatory action research, and Black female identity development. She co-directs community projects like youth-led heritage preservation initiatives and STEAM programs for Black girls.

Publications include studies on gentrification's educational impacts, culturally relevant teacher training, and DACA student support systems. She has edited volumes on Black female teachers and global urban education solutions.
