Avra Sidiropoulou is Assistant Professor at the M.A. Program in Theatre Studies at the Open University of Cyprus and Artistic Director of Athens-based Persona Theatre Company. She has worked internationally, conducting directing workshops and contributing to contemporary theatre practice.
Her research interests span Theatre Directing, Performance Studies, Shakespearean Theatre, Classical Adaptation, Actor Training, and collaborative processes with set and lighting designers. She has developed specialized expertise in adapting classical works for contemporary contexts and exploring directorial point-of-view.
Dr. Sidiropoulou is the author of 'Directions for Directing: Theatre and Method,' which provides comprehensive guidance on directing practice from conception through to opening night. The book addresses both emerging and experienced directors with practical advice on auditions, casting, script interpretation, and actor motivation.
