Rob Swain is a Professor of Theatre Practice at the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication at Birkbeck, University of London, where he serves as Programme Director for the MFA Theatre Directing. As a freelance theatre director and former Artistic Director of Harrogate Theatre, he has directed over 50 productions including classical works by Chekhov and Shakespeare, ACE-funded national tours, and innovative actor-musician collaborations.
