Aviana Rosen

Dr. Aviana Rosen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut (UConn), within the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources. She has been affiliated with UConn since 2010, joining the Waterbury campus’s AHS department in 2023. Her academic journey includes earning a BA in Psychology & Human Development and Family Studies, followed by an MS and PhD in Health Promotion Sciences, all from UConn. She has taught undergraduate and honors courses since 2020 and was recognized with the 2023 CAHNR Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Award.

Her research focuses on global health in Latino populations, addressing mental health, HIV prevention, obesity prevention, and substance use. Additional expertise includes the Mediterranean Diet, mHealth technologies, and sexual minority health. Dr. Rosen has worked as a Project Manager on international public health initiatives and maintains affiliations at both the UConn Storrs and Waterbury campuses.
