Augustina Akoto is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the LLB (Hons) Law and International Relations at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. She leads modules including English Legal System, Child Law, Family Law, and Law and Society in Africa. Her research focuses on African Law, Legal Pluralism, and issues affecting ethnic minorities in legal contexts, with recent emphasis on child rights and child marriage in Ghana. She actively contributes to institutional committees such as Athena Swan and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Her 2024 publication in Research Handbook on Marriage, Cohabitation and the Law explores Ghana's legal pluralism frameworks. Akoto has designed curricula addressing attainment gaps and curriculum diversification, reflecting her commitment to inclusive legal education.
