Attila Bátorfy

Attila Bátorfy is a Lecturer at the Department of Media and Communication, Faculty of Humanities, ELTE Eötvös Loránd University. He serves as the head of the Átlátszó’s visual journalism project Átló and has been teaching data visualization, cartography, and information design since 2019.

His research focuses on the Hungarian media system, the politics of data, and the theory, practice, and history of graphic data presentation. He is currently pursuing a PhD thesis on the history of information graphics in Hungary.

Bátorfy has conducted workshops on data visualization, mapping, and data journalism for institutions such as Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Central European University, and WWF Hungary. His professional work spans clients like National Geographic, CEU CMDS, and the Hungarian Academy of Science KRTK.
