Attila Herber is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, where he specializes in history teaching methodology and curriculum development. Previously, he was a teacher at Eötvös József High School in Budapest.

His research focuses on historical canon development in education, textbook analysis, and shaping historical consciousness. He has contributed to the TEEM Erasmus project on civic and history teachers' education, emphasizing democratic competences and social responsibility.
His publications (1992–2023) include textbooks, workbooks, and chapters analyzing canonization tendencies in Hungarian history education (1960s–1990s), curriculum design, and pedagogical practices. Notably, he co-authored a series of history textbooks and workbooks used in Hungarian high schools.
Herber holds English language proficiency at C level and German at B1. He has served on educational committees, including the History OKTV Committee (2006–) and the National Remembrance Committee (2019–20) as a consultant.
