Daniel Halász Fischer is a Visiting Professor at CEU's Visual Studies Platform since 2023, teaching photography and visual media at MA/PhD and undergraduate levels. He concurrently pursues a PhD in Arts at KU Leuven/LUCA School of Arts and a Doctor of Liberal Arts at Moholy-Nagy University. Originally from Budapest, he has lived in Paris, Brussels, NYC, Kampala, Glasgow, and York. His work focuses on documentary practices, social change in communities, and digital-age rights advocacy.

Research Interests: Explores intersections of visual media with sociopolitical issues through projects like 'Family Russia' (exploring Finno-Ugric identities) and 'Persecution of Art' (documenting artistic resistance). His work bridges fine art, documentary, and advocacy.

Advising & Grants: Led courses at Moholy-Nagy and tutored at NYC's International Center of Photography. Collaborated with NGOs like Hungarian Civil Liberties Union on disability advocacy projects. Exhibited globally, including at the Hermitage Museum (2017) and Robert Capa Center (2014).
