Astrid von Rosen is a Senior Lecturer in Art History and Visual Studies at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She is also a research coordinator for the Embracing the Archives cluster within the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies (UGOT-UCL), reflecting her strong engagement with interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of artistic and academic inquiry, with a focus on archives and dance. Drawing from her background as a former classical and contemporary dancer, she explores how performance, memory, and cultural heritage interact, particularly in non-institutional contexts.
Astrid is currently involved in the interdisciplinary project \'Turning Points and Continuity: the Changing Roles of Performance in Society 1880–1925\', funded by the Swedish Research Council. Previously, she led the trans-disciplinary project \'Dream-Playing: Accessing the non-texts of Strindberg’s A Dream Play in Düsseldorf 1915–18\'. Her current research investigates participatory approaches to 1980s dance culture in Gothenburg and its imagined and existing archives.
She has written books and articles on these topics, contributing to evolving discourses in heritage, affect, and performance. Her recent participation in academic sessions highlights her interest in empathy, affect, and community-based heritage practices.
