Aslı Bâli is a Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law and Faculty Director of the Promise Institute for Human Rights. She is currently serving as the Samuel Rubin Visiting Professor of Law at Columbia Law School.

Her research focuses on public international law, including international human rights law, humanitarian law, and the law of the international security order, alongside comparative constitutional law with a regional emphasis on the Middle East. Her work has appeared in journals such as the International Journal of Constitutional Law, American Journal of International Law Unbound, and Yale Journal of International Law.
She co-edited Constitution Writing, Religion and Democracy (Cambridge University Press, 2017) and is working on a forthcoming volume From Revolution to Devolution: Experiments in Decentralization in the MENA Region (Cambridge University Press, 2022).
