Ashley Larkin

Ashley Larkin serves as an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at St. Thomas University College of Law, joining the faculty in 2024 after working as a licensed Florida attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office.

Her educational background includes:

• B.S., Florida Atlantic University
• J.D., St. Thomas University College of Law (2020, top 15 of class)

Professor Larkin specializes in Criminal Law, Business Law, and Legal Writing, drawing from her practical experience as an Assistant Public Defender and her academic focus on criminal litigation and business law during law school. Her teaching integrates real-world litigation skills developed through her public defense work.

She has received six CALI Book Awards for academic excellence during her J.D. studies.

Professional engagements include competing on the St. Thomas Trial Team and completing legal internships at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office (as a Certified Legal Intern) and the City of Miami Litigation Department.
