Ashley George is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Media, Howard College of Arts and Sciences, Samford University. She joined the faculty in 2014 after earning her PhD at The University of Alabama.

George's research focuses on social support behaviors within family relationships in health communication contexts. She investigates the intersection of social support and health decision-making, as well as how supportive networks influence coping during health crises. Her work is interdisciplinary, involving collaborations with campus scholars and Birmingham health practitioners.
She has been recognized with the following awards:
- Excellence in Teaching by a Doctoral Student (2012, University of Alabama)
- Professor of The Game (2016, Samford University)
George serves as faculty advisor for Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Studies honor society, and is passionate about mentoring students. She has presented her research at national and international conferences.
