Ásgeir Tryggvason is a Senior Lecturer in Education at Örebro University's School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. He coordinates the Environmental and Sustainability Education Research Group (ESERGO) and is affiliated with the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Social Science (CESSS). His academic focus spans environmental education, didactics, and democratic theory, with active participation in Swedish Research Council-funded projects examining education's role in sustainability and global justice.
His research explores the intersection of emotions, identities, and conflicts in sustainability education through theoretical frameworks of agonism and didaktik. Major projects include:
