Asbjørn Tiller

Asbjørn Tiller is an Associate Professor at the Department of Art and Media Studies, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His research focuses on the role of sound in art, film, and architecture, with interdisciplinary work spanning media studies, cinema, music, and art history. He explores experimental audiovisual expressions in historical contexts, particularly documentary film sound and rockumentaries.

Teaching spans practical film and video production with a sound emphasis at BA/MA levels across multiple departments including Art and Media Studies, Music, and The Arts Academy. His publications include academic monographs like Lydbilder - mediene og det akustiske (2014) and articles on spatial acoustics, environmental sound, and cinematic soundscapes. He actively participates in academic lectures and outreach activities, including a 2014 interview about film sound for VG and presentations at international conferences like EMS 13 and NECS.
