Asad Rauf is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen. His research focuses on financial intermediation, corporate finance, and the political economy of regulation.
His research examines banking stability, credit markets, and regulatory frameworks. Recent work investigates loan loss provisioning mechanisms, pricing of loan commitments, and design of contingent convertible bonds.
Rauf teaches courses in Banking, Insurance and Risk Management (MSc Finance), Economics of Banking, and Capital Structure and Financial Planning. His pedagogical approach integrates industry insights with theoretical frameworks.
