Max Bruche is a Professor of Finance at Humboldt University of Berlin. He holds a PhD in Finance from the London School of Economics and earned a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and an MPhil in Economics from Oxford University. His career spans academic roles at institutions including CEMFI in Madrid and Cass Business School in London, alongside visiting positions at Lehman Brothers, the European Central Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
His research focuses on corporate debt markets, financial intermediation, and credit risk dynamics. Key themes include debt pricing, creditor coordination, and the interplay between credit cycles and recovery rates. His recent work addresses topics such as dealer funding mechanisms, bank-firm matching, and leveraged loan market behavior.
