Arturo Larcati serves as Associate Professor of German Literature at the University of Verona's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. He holds academic sector GERM-01/B and his research aligns with ERC classifications in literary theory, cultural studies, and philology. His office is located in Palazzo di Lingue, Room 1.04, where he maintains regular office hours on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
His research interests focus on German Expressionism, metaphor theory from poetic perspectives, and specialized studies in Austrian literature, particularly the works of Ingeborg Bachmann and Stefan Zweig. Larcati leads the Salzburger Bachmann Edition research group dedicated to the critical edition of Bachmann's work in collaboration with Salzburg's Literary Archive, and participates in the Eurotales group studying 20th-21st century European migrations.
Larcati has received the prestigious Theodor Körner prize from Vienna for his contributions to German-Austrian literary studies. His research portfolio includes multiple projects spanning from 2010 to 2015, including studies on Zweig's relationship with Italy, Bachmann's legacy, historical avant-gardes, and Stifter's works.
He actively teaches German literature courses across multiple degree programs including Bachelor's degrees in Foreign Languages and Literatures and Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce. His teaching responsibilities include German Literature 1, 2, and 3 courses, as well as specialized seminars like Stefan Zweig e l'Europa.
