Ariel C. Avgar is the David M. Cohen Professor at the ILR School, Cornell University, and Senior Associate Dean for Outreach and Sponsored Research. He directs the Center for Applied Research on Work. His research focuses on healthcare employment relations, workplace innovation, and conflict management in organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from Cornell, an LL.B in Law from Hebrew University, and previously served as a Law Clerk for the Israeli National Labor Court.

Research Interests: Examines how workplace innovations (e.g., technology, care models) impact healthcare systems and labor relations. Analyzes conflict dynamics in organizations, including strategic conflict management practices and their implications for employees and employers. Recent work addresses privatization of dispute resolution systems in the U.S. and remote work technologies' role in organizational practices.
